# ADR: Direct Keyword Execution Arguments

Hypster execution APIs should forward ordinary config dependencies as direct keyword **Execution Arguments** instead of teaching separate `args=` and `kwargs=` containers. This is a breaking greenfield cleanup: Hypster-owned controls such as `values`, `on_unknown`, `return_schema`, `auto_apply`, `name`, and `description` remain reserved at their execution boundary, while all other direct keywords are forwarded into the **Configuration Function** and are never included in **Selected Params**.

## Consequences

* `instantiate`, `instantiate_with_params`, `explore`, `interact`, `hp.nest`, and HPO `suggest_values` use the same direct-keyword forwarding model.
* Public `args=` and `kwargs=` forwarding are removed rather than kept as compatibility aliases.
* `explore(return_info=True)` is renamed to `explore(return_schema=True)` so the flag matches the **Explore Schema** domain term.
* This change should ship as a breaking pre-1.0 minor release.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://gilad-rubin.gitbook.io/hypster/concepts/0003-direct-keyword-execution-arguments.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
